The Nascentes do Saber Program promotes environmental education and the strengthening of socio-environmental citizenship values from childhood. The program brings together projects that use storytelling as a tool for awareness and engagement, such as Águas do Saber and Bons Ventos. Nascentes do Saber focuses on encouraging protagonism, fostering environmental awareness, and promoting social inclusion through playful and creative educational activities. In addition to training, the program also involves families and communities, contributing to the building of more resilient and sustainable territories. Its actions combine in-person activities, literary creation workshops, artificial intelligence, and digital communication campaigns, expanding the reach and impact of messages of sustainability and solidarity.
What is Nascentes do Saber
Águas do Saber in Ouro Preto (MG) is an environmental education project that encourages children to create children’s books on themes related to environmental preservation. Through writing and illustration workshops, it promotes child protagonism, critical thinking, and the strengthening of ties between school, family, and community. We work in the communities of Glaura, Miguel Burnier, Motta, and Lavras Novas.

The training project has as its main objective to prepare public school teachers in the Águas do Saber methodology, promoting environmental education in a playful, critical way, integrated into school pedagogical practices. The proposal stems from the understanding that environmental and social transformation begins in the classroom, with educators prepared to inspire new generations.
